Question
Does Rpacs / PRO work on a tablet PC?
Answer
Yes, Rpacs / PRO does work on a tablet PC. However, the application needs to be activated (only possible after purchase) because Rpacs / PRO will run on a tablet PC only as a full license. Thus, at the moment, it is not possible to use an evaluation (trial) version of Rpacs / PRO on a tablet PC.
After regularly installing the application on a tablet PC it will hang at the ‘Enter Key’ dialog. To activate the license, you need to start the computer in the safe mode and then enter the activation data, which have to be requested from Reliant Medical Systems. Afterwards the application can be started. Return to the normal mode and Rpacs / PRO will run regularly.

How can I check a license status of Rpacs?
Answer
Simply click on the ‘Local settings’ button in the Study Browser and then on ‘Information/Upgrade’. There you can find information regarding the current certificate as well as the hardware fingerprint.

Question
Can I produce patient CDs with RPACS / PRO?
Answer
Using RPACS it is very easy to burn patient CDs or DVDs. Just select the studies or series you want and burn them on CD/DVD!
It is essential that all of your recipients are able to read and use your CDs: RPACS is very intuitive and available in all major languages, and the chosen language will also be used on the burned CDs/DVDs. The R CD Viewer runs on all common Windows® computers, even on rather old ones with Windows 2000 OS, and requires only 64MB RAM!
Your referring physician can easily compare different studies at the same time using RPACS LITE and even print images on Windows printers or export them into BMP or JPEG files! RPACS LITE can display your structured reports in order to distribute image and finding data in a linked way.

Question
Can I use hanging protocols with RPACS?
Answer
A hanging protocol tool is integrated into RPACS PRO. With this tool it is possible to create either general modality-related hanging protocols or specific hanging protocols based on the series descriptions. Thus, the layout as well as the presentation mode for each modality or kind of study can be defined.
Further improvements, e.g. the configuration of several hanging protocols for the same kind of study, will be made with RPACS 2.6.0.

Answer

Question
Can RPACS handle large databases?
Answer
RPACS is a DICOM workstation and not a PACS/archive. It does only include a file-based database that cannot handle large volumes of studies and images. Neither can it share its local database with other RPACS station. The number of studies that can be displayed in RPACS is limited to 10.000. The integration of a database into RPACS is planned.
For central image storage and distribution we recommend the use of a PACS, such as RPACS. From there you can always retrieve needed studies/images and still have them available at all times at all stations.

Question
Does RPACS / PRO support DICOM Print?
Answer
You can connect RPACS to any DICOM imager or normal paper printer.
The print manager’s user interface is powerful and very intuitive: It allows you to switch between different printers and between portrait or landscape orientation as well as to select several paper formats. Image output and layout can be predefined. Series, individual images or marked groups of images can be printed with or without text overlays and page headers. Also complex imaging features, like easy zooming, panning, windowing, levelling, moving and deleting of images, are integrated.
